So last night my cousin told be about Icanhascheezburger… and now it’s the next day and I’ve read(/looked at?) 132 pages… dat be sum lotsa kittehs. 
Icanhascheezburger is a website of “lolcats” – pictures, usually of cats, that people upload with funny captions. These captions are written in “lolspeak”, which seemed to me at first to be a combination of bad grammar, baby talk, 1337, Chinglish and Ali G-like gansta talk. When I didn’t understand something I couldn’t work out if it was because I was too “nerdy” or too “cool”. Probably a bit of both. One thing is for sure though – the pics are freakin’ hilarious. Srsly.
Last night when I was relaxing online for a few minutes before bed I remembered the URL and typed it in. 30mins later my nose is running, my belly hurts from laughter and my desk is littered with tissues 
from the tears of funny. I don’t know if it was just ‘cos it was so late or something but man, those cats are CRAZY funny! Also once you start it’s hard to stop, so after the first 40 pages or so I was getting cramps in my laughter muscles. Plus it was like 1 in the morning and so I was trying not to wake people up. You can see cute cats, funny cats, little cats, big cats, one cat or lots of cats – and cats which will visit you in your nightmares. Plus there are a few other animals (like the lolrus), and even some un-inanimate objects.
There are a heaps of different kinds of captions, obviously your random funnies, but then there’s like
visual puns, lines from movies (incl. LotR, wa-00t!), TV/movie characters, famous people (including a kitteh who looks freakishly like Christina Ricci), geek references (I’m in ur base!), and pics of kittehs with invisible objects – like a segway, tango partner, snow shovel, Macy’s parade, etc. (My personal favourite is the text message breakup!!).
The site also has a place where you can easily create your own lolcat, using their pics or your own. That must be how they’ve got so many pics in such a short time! Bazillions of them! If you’re having trouble understanding any of the lolcats, or you want to be able to speak awesome all the time, there is even a lolcats glossary so you can become fluent in lolspeak! All the other kids will be jealous – and your English teacher will be thrilled!
Lolcats has also spawned other projects, including loldogs and a Bible translation project, translating the Bible into LOLspeak. I know.
